About Piazza Pelino

Authentic Italian eatery offering focaccia sandwiches and housemade gelato in an Italian market setting

Piazza Pelino is one of the italian restaurants listed in Columbus, Ohio. The business is registered at 772 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (614) 849-5019. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, piazzapelino.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 172 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded italian restaurants in Columbus.

I love this place! The sandwiches DELICIOUS and are so similar to the ones you’d get in Italy. they are also made with fresh and authentic ingredients. I’ve had multiple sandwiches here and I have yet to be disappointed. We definitely needed something like this in Columbus and I’m so glad we have it!!

I stopped by Piazza Pallino to try their gelato, and I’m glad I did. The gelato is absolutely delicious, and I love that many of the ingredients are locally sourced. You can really taste the quality. I also ordered a cappuccino, and it was phenomenal. It had a wonderful aroma, a beautiful presentation, and an excellent, well-balanced flavor. It’s one of the better cappuccinos I’ve had. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee or treat. It was also nice to see fresh focaccia being made for their sandwiches, which speaks to their commitment to quality. In addition to the cafΓ© offerings, they have an interesting selection of wines and other Italian specialty goods to browse. Overall, I had a great experience and definitely plan to return. Highly recommended!

Such a charming space with really next level food and drink. We had sandwiches on their house-made focaccia, Americanos to drink, and gelato for dessert. The staff was lovely and helpful. The flour in the focaccia is from Italy. The cream for our coffee was from a local producer, and was fabulous. Details like these really make the experience shine. And they also sell Italian wines and packaged foods. I would impoverish myself eating here all the time if I was a local.

We have been here twice now and love it. The sandwiches here are very good and so is the gelato. The atmosphere is very cute and makes you feel like you are in a small Italian cafe. They sell a lot of wine too if you are interested in that. The sandwiches themselves are very good. Everything is very fresh and made well. We got the Della Casa sandwich and the prosciutto I ficchi sandwich. Both were very good. The sandwiches are big too so good for sharing or enjoying on your own if you are hungry. They also serve gelato which is made in house and is very good. We split 4 scoops and had the blueberry, flor di latte, chocolate and pistachio. All were very refreshing. We will definitely be back.

I’ve been in three times for a sandwich over the past year or so. Every time has less and less toppings on the sandwich. This last time the pesto was so nutty and chunky and the sandwich was weirdly sweet. I felt like I was eating a pb+cheese. When I went to scrape some of the nuts off i realized they put the wrong frickin meat on my sandwich. Needless to say I will NOT be spending $17 on a sandwich there again, no matter how long the line at the lox is. EDIT: I ordered the Della casa, so I guess they rang me in wrong, and I couldn’t have it remade because I was 45 minutes away at work
